Collaborative passion project where I helped fill in the green screen gaps for a devilishly good piece of advertising
I was approached by a film maker to art direct the VFX plates for a live action commercial, which had already been shot and was now ready to enter post production.
The ad was for a (now archived) weekly podcast called ‘Pop-up Submissions’. Produced by Litopia, the internet’s oldest colony for writers, it was the world's first live submission event where aspiring writers could showcase their work directly to the publishing business – and be a fly on the wall as the submission is reviewed live on the show.
In addition to creating concept art for all VFX shots, I also made a comprehensive interactive guide for the CG artists to aid their completion of the final effects.
Rough cut, final film with VFX coming soon.
Storyboard of 40 screen designs, mostly consisting of Photoshop comps with some AI assisted imagery for elements like Satan’s minions and demonic hand swaps.

In order to sell the narrative of Pop-up Submissions being more than just a podcast, certain scenes required the creation of branded material that didn’t exist outside of the film, such as website and app screens. This brand style was then used for the design of the production guide.

The UX for the interactive guide features a menu tab for important sections, including a central hub where the user can jump between scenes and view a detailed breakdown of each effect by clicking specific areas of the scene graphic.
